Speed kills. Period. No coach of any sport has ever said "I can't use that athlete, they're too fast". Increasing speed should be a primary goal of every field and court athlete.
Speed can and should be trained year round, including in-season. However, this is definitely a case of 'Work smarter, not harder'.

The 2 main areas of focus in this product are acceleration and maximum velocity. There are also a number of valuable tips and pointers to remember when training for speed.
There are progressions of jumps and starts to improve horizontal projection and force production. There is also a progression of top speed mechanics that can be drilled to improve running form.
